Write a game program for the Apple iPhone - Apple iPod touch
and distribute it in the Apple Store.
This all started
Trigger for our project was an article by Jenna Wortham in the
New York Times on 05.04.2009 and an article by Yukari Iwatani
Kane in the Wall Street Journal on 20.04.2009.
Our Requirements
We bring some obsolete with experience in DOS and have been
working for years with Microsoft Office applications (including
PowerPoint and FrontPage) and Adobe (including Photoshop).
Our approach
In this diary, we will work through our weekly progress report.
18. Week 2009
We have conversations with our children and young people about
their interest in games, their preferences for mobile phone
manufacturers, their use of mobile phones, their habits in daily
use

Before we proceed with the actual programming for the Apple
iPod touch and iPhone application start, we want to clarify

We go to the book by Erica Sadun and
work us through the entire Chapter 1 - Introduction to the iPhone
SDK. Unfortunately the publisher has no CD attached to the programming
code to be available.

Slowly we itches in your fingers and
we want not only to make it become active. We start Xcode and
create our first application.
● Xcode - New Project - View-Based Application
- Choose - Title: Test - Save. It opens the window in the simulator
debug mode. Build and Go created an empty application in the
iPhone simulation. We create a folder and add additional photos.
Before we create two separate images with the name: Icon.png
(57x57 px) and Default.png (320x480 px). Xcode - Project - New
Group (Pictures) Xcode - Pictures (right click) - Add - Existing
Files - Icon.png and Default.png (Copy items into destination
group's folder to activate) - Add Build and Go erstellet our
first app with pictures (before eventually quit Iphone Simulator).
Slowly we are losing the overview of
all the new terms and as Sizes of cutouts and pictures. We commit
ourselves to a leaflet we continuously added.
We have no desire to study.

31. Week 2009
Linda sends us the first draft and we
spend the entire 31st Week assessments, proposals for amendments
and corrections. We limit ourselves at this stage on the line
drawings, the color we want to make, when all pieces are finished.

Of course this makes us work more fun
than the dry study of the programming instructions, but we will
in the next two weeks more to read and experiment.
32. Week 2009
Linda Brotkorb has further revised draft
to be sent to our players. They are very much effort, is doing
an outstanding job and has much patience with us. Here are some

Friedhild Gerhard from Enkirch on the
Moselle has viewed our previous work. Friedhild Gerhard is a
well-known, local artist, whose current exhibition we visited
in the Savings Bank Middle Mosel, Branch Bernkastel-Kues. It
deals since 1980 seriously with painting. With study tours in
Provence, lessons with Ingo Hoffmann, annual occupancy Intensive
with Peter Valentiner (Cologne, acrylic painting), and regular
painting classes with Rolf Hölter (Annenberg, oil) Friedhild
Gerhard has done extensive work with various painting techniques.
Since 1990, she passed into our region's own painting classes
for children and adults.

All pictures are ready. Before
we start the actual programming of our Apple's application,
we are addressing the problem of a database. We print out all
the screens of our application and re-examine the logical structure
and logical flow within the entire application on the following
criteria:
- If the stage directions? Are they
needed and they are easy to understand and short? What documents
must be translated? We assign unique names to the texts.
- If the sequence of images and the
logical transitions from one screen to another?
- What are the variables and what
are values that are set for the game or the email?
- To save space, what part of pictures
must / can I offer as a variable and / or as a value?
- As we build up the database? What
values require a separate table?

That was so not planned. We have just
spent the last four weeks to restore all the images that run
through the processes again and again and assign the necessary
entries to the tables. Again and again we have the procedures

1. Week 2010
Dear friends, supporters and supporters
of our idea: We thank you and thank you for the good cooperation
in the past year. Unfortunately, our project is developing slower
than expected, but we are working hard to implement. We look

Meanwhile, we have come decisive steps
further. We have completed all the pictures (images) and texts
in German and English. For our further work we have created

To gain an intuitive overview of the
overall workflow of the Apple App, we have asked for the schematic
representation of the game play all the images into an iPhone

We have received technical reinforcement.
Alvaro Gauterin studied last semester at the University of Koblenz
Computational and soon wants to get his bachelor's degree. He
lives in a shared flat in Koblenz. Alvaro will take care of
our programming to Apple's App. We are really happy because
he saved so that our app and our social ideas. The "young" support
has given us real boost. We're working him in the coming weeks.

7. Week 2010
We also had to reactivate Linda Brotkorb

The revision of the text (provisional)

northern Germany, her father from Austria. Both are still active
and have made numerous appearances throughout the Northeast
United States.

an extra suitable for our application four music pieces to our
theme.
Short review: In search of technical
support in programming the beginning of 2010 we had contact
with various vendors, we have found on the Internet.
Maximilian Götzfried, Free Software
Developer (Mac / iPhone / iPad), has been working since 1998
as an independent contractor and has started 2008 with the development
of iPhone applications. Unfortunately, he was booked for the
next few months, Was ourselves with a list of names of developers
and a recommendation.
By Maximilian Götzfried we had contact
with Dr. Dirk Koller. He has worked variously Project Manager
for T-Online, Continental, Fraport. Since 2007 he works as a
freelancer (Certified Member of the Apple) iPhone Developer
Program. Currently he is working on a (iPhone) book, but was
willing to help us from the beginning of April after his corrections.
With Tiusz Pan Craft Mobile, a small,
agile team that specializes in the implementation of iPhone
applications in the sales and also develops its own applications,
we have also had an interesting conversation. Craft Mobile was
launched in 2009 and belongs to the Craft AG. Its proposal for
action: initial briefing to the idea, evaluating the feasibility,
costs and market opportunities, a binding project quote, clickable
wireframe prototype, detailed specifications for programming,
screen designs, ext programming, testing & bug fixing, release
in the App Store, Statistics of the success of the App.

helpful to us, but see above, Alvaro Gauterin us now supported.
Because of his commitment receives the actual game other variants,
of which we previously were not allowed to dream. There is an
increasingly attractive and we hope that we all age groups to
address.
Alvaro keeps its own "programming Diary,"
that we will release later on this site. His first test versions
are promising. We have spent the last two weeks in order to
create the animation for another game character. Once Linda
has expanded the existing animations for the characters, we
will still be supplemented by small things.

the home straight.
12th Week 2010
We did not know that a stretch can be
so long.
The collaboration with Alvaro proved
to be very enjoyable and stimulating. After each interview,
we each create a to-do list for the corrections and for the
implementation of new ideas. (Pattern, we will publish later).
The e-mail function and the set of messages
in Facebook and Twitter running smoothly.
● Sorry we had to do without a connection
to MySpace, because according to relevant blogs currently offered
by the MySpace version of the program for the iPhone is not
stable. MySpace announced a revision, which I hope we can build
into our first update.
All other functions (eg language shift)
are set up on the actual game too, and show no errors anymore.
Since the 11th Week we have a self-imposed, however:
● New ideas are only collected yet,
but implemented before the first update. Priority is now the
application for the App in Apple.
While Eddie and Eileen revise the English
computer translation our diary, we are preparing the website
of "Minlufu before. A good suggestion we have found on the Web
Designer Wall and Chip Online. For the sites we develop our
own buttons that match Apple and our idea.


We are "Minlufu" present only in English
(en) and German (de) at Apple for approval. Once our application
in the App Store available, we will further eleven languages
(ar, it, let fr, hi, yes it, nl, pl, pt, ru, zh-cn translation)
(We really do not even like computer translations ).
So far we have 7 candidates on our list
of testers and testers.

before logging in to Apple for free, send us an e-mail with

The first application of our rough diamond
"Minlufu" is ready - a year after we have looked for the first

18th Week 2010
Another five weeks passed, we are with
our diary entry two weeks too late. Where is the only time?
● These weeks have been packed with
countless works, whose diversity we have in the planning and
implementation of our recent application is not considered.
Alvaro Gauterin has managed to win a
fellow student for the idea.
● Eugene Klass is Mendig from computer
science student in the 6th Semester at the University of Koblenz.

E-mail letter
The website for our e-mail letter makes us worry. The letter
itself has at least a size of 480 x 587 pixels. On of the most
used screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 sees the letter from lost.
We have searched for a background image that fits our theme
and to us. In addition, we have found some matching accessories.

In the HTML programming of the site
the information to screen filled background graphic and some
findings have been helpful to monitor resolutions.
Reviewers collect
Every day the application is refined and revised. Alvaro and
we take every opportunity to the interim friends and acquaintances
to show and collect their criticisms. Here are just a small

Music
The songs have to be revised and adjusted for the application.
We have various versions of music on the iPhone and tested the
iPod touch. Helpful in the assessment is an article on music
formats on Wikipedia. We decide all the titles in store. M4a.
The audio converter software for Mac and Windows PC NCH brought
in addition to the conversion from. Mp3 to. M4a also the advantage
that we could compress the relatively large files without quality

We tested the different versions of your songs on the iPhone
and iPod touch. First result: The converting of the original
songs (11-02-2010) from. M4a into. Mp3 induces an audible loss
of quality. In answer to this result we bought a converting
program (supposed to be one of the best on the market, but only
$ 19.99). It is very easy to handle and offers a variety of
converting possibilities (eg stereo or mono) and we found out
that it will probably be better to convert within the. M4a format
itself. Alvaro suggested that we should do the converting and
compression with this program ourselves. This way we can really
obtain the best compromise of size and sound. This means you
should work with the original files produced by Jim in February.

for errors or mistakes in the logical approach in programming.
It is becoming apparent that we are
our target (for sale since May 31, 2010) are not re-create,
even though all working hard.
28th Week 2010
Seven weeks have passed since the last
entry in our diary. Where has the time gone? It goes by much
too quickly, hour by hour, day after day, week after week, and
our application is still not ready for testing.

This was followed by five very labor-intensive months in which
we as Figures have matched in color and content to each other,
texts have revised several times, continually the quality of
the images have improved (lighter, darker, sharper, different,
new). Then we sat for hours on the computer and draw figures
for the game animations. But slowly hurt the back and the work
became increasingly difficult. We often have rejected even work
because they did not meet our requirements and we had to start
from scratch. The failure of our Apple introduced programming
GroovyFogie us with a new challenge: Anyone who works in the
programming language Objective-C, how long it will last, we
get help from outside, what is the cost, should we give up?
We have got professional help at the University of Koblenz-Landau.
With Alvaro Gauterin (Objective-C Programming) and Eugene Klass
(PHP programming), again a creative phase followed by a month.
Within this period originated in the theory of a simple application,
a sophisticated version with many surprises and a high fun factor.
Everything seemed possible at one time, no variation of the
game was too heavy. Perhaps we have lost at this point the sense
of what is possible because implementation required not only
a further two months of hard work, but also meant that our application
is still not finished. Alvaro and Eugene have in their fields
on sound technical knowledge and are able to acquire the missing
knowledge through research. They show themselves to various
loads of study, student job, vacation and leisure have grown
largely, but not so far resisted our multiple deadlines. The
design of the of their activities and their quality of work
we can not yet final assessment, as they have yet to reach their
own goals. Meanwhile, we fall back on in collaboration with
Alvaro and Eugene Klass on Mantis. Mantis (Mantis Bug Tracker,
MantisBT) is a free software that is used to manage and track
evidence of bugs and requests for additional features.

Perhaps we are simply too old for the
job. Sometimes we come before us like Sisyphus. Despite great
efforts, we feel as good as never to be finished.

news: On 13 July 2010 we received an e-mail from the U.S. Department
of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security in Washington in
connection with the required export license from Apple: "THIS

(1) OF THE EXPORT ADMINISTRATION REGULATIONS (EAR). THE ITEMS
IN THIS SUBMITTED PRIOR TO JUNE CCATS 25, 2010 ARE GRAND fathered

REQUIRED REPORTING CLASSIFICATION. "Due to a new law we need

Meanwhile, the Christmas season and

Stier: "I'm off the phone with my advisor Dominik Grüntjens

to complete your application. I'm currently studying at the
University of Koblenz and Computational am in the final phase

Disillusionment follows after the first
week. It turns out that it has become clear from our originally
structured project in the last six years an elusive, in part,
confusing work. Many decisions we have made with Alvaro and
Eugene ad hoc, from originally 180 text instructions include
more than 500 now. In an attempt to make our application better
and more interesting, our short-term decisions have led to a
barely manageable chaos. In addition, we have omitted for lack

Even the refactoring is thus a major
problem.

● "The calculated score is made up of:
current core = captured star / required time / handicap. The
handicap affects the values: basket size, basket capacity, StarThief
frequency, StarThief speed, starThiefStealing, star falling
frequency, speed falling star, avatar speed (GameLayer.m lines
42 - 50). We then found that in HCP all levels are already taken
into account, we have to do any additional calculations, but
HCP can leave the real operand to determine the scores. However,
we wanted to change the definition of avatar speed (see mantis
214): Currently avatar speed is determined only by an HCP (GameLayer.m
lines 385 ff). avatar speed must however be a function of frequency
falling star falling star and determined speed: The more stars
and the faster the stars fall from the sky, the faster the avatar
has to run as a function of tilt angle of the device. Now for
the problem with value 0: Can only catchedStars temperatures
0. Suggestion: If catchedStars = 0, the result is expressed
